The Patient Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that systems and processes are in place to monitor patient safety, with a focus on learning from deaths, incidents, and national safety alerts.
The role will involve delivering the Trust's patient safety priorities, promoting a safety culture that emphasizes learning, and providing direct support to staff undertaking learning responses and thematic reviews.
The post holder will be an expert in the NHS Patient Safety Strategy and will assist the Associate Director of Governance and Head of Patient Safety and Risk to deliver the Trust's safety strategy.
About the TrustHampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides medical and surgical services to a population of approximately 600,000 across Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire.
The Trust provides specialist services to people across the UK and internationally, including tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer services.
The post holder will be expected to uphold the Trust's CARE values.
Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent experience, with a sound knowledge of patient safety in the NHS and experience in safety improvement.
Desirable qualifications include quality improvement training, patient safety training, and a training or teaching qualification.
The post holder will require excellent prioritization, written communication, investigation techniques, and IT skills.
