Position Overview:
An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a qualified Culinary Specialist to join our esteemed healthcare facilities. This position will involve working across multiple sites, collaborating with our dedicated teams, and providing essential support during peak times, staff absences, and other operational needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Culinary Preparation and Execution: Proficient in diverse cooking methods, responsible for preparing and executing meals that meet the highest standards of quality and creativity.
- Quality Assurance: Guarantee that all culinary creations adhere to established standards of flavor, presentation, and overall quality.
- Kitchen Operations Management: Support the head chef in managing daily kitchen operations, which includes organizing workflow, supervising kitchen personnel, and ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Staff Mentorship and Development: Assist in training and mentoring kitchen staff, sharing expertise, and providing guidance to promote consistent quality and skill enhancement within the team.
- Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with the head chef in managing inventory levels and ensuring a sufficient supply of ingredients. This includes monitoring stock, placing orders, and maintaining proper storage and rotation of perishable goods.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Aid the head chef in upholding stringent hygiene and safety protocols in the kitchen, ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and adherence to health regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Effective Communication and Teamwork: Foster effective communication and collaboration with the head chef, kitchen staff, and other team members, ensuring a personable approach and engagement with all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess certifications in Food Hygiene and Safety, as well as an NVQ up to Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality.
