Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals in a compact kitchen, serving approximately 60 residents three times daily.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow chefs, fostering a supportive and communicative environment.
  • Participate in both small and large-scale events.
  • Utilize recipe cards to ensure accurate meal preparation and presentation.
  • Complete necessary documentation to maintain compliance and quality standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock assessments.
  • Manage food orders and maintain accurate kitchen records.
  • Share accountability with the Chef Manager for the inspection and verification of all food deliveries.
  • Monitor and document temperatures of refrigeration units and serving areas.
  • Contribute to regular kitchen sanitation and deep cleaning efforts.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu offerings.
  • Oversee food production and inventory levels to minimize waste.
  • Act as a mentor for new team members, guiding them through kitchen procedures and standards.
  • Engage in ongoing training as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a comparable food service setting.
  • Relevant culinary certification (minimum Level 2).
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Confident culinary professional.
  • DBS clearance required for this position.
  • Adaptability and a creative approach to culinary challenges.
