Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Content Writer - Community Curator to join our team. As a key member of our InYourArea team, you will be responsible for researching, curating, and creating engaging content for our hyperlocal news site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Search for and rework existing content from across the Reach network that resonates with the IYA audience
  • Turn User Generated Content (UGC) into stories and support our diversification of content plans
  • Test and use safe AI processes to write engaging newsletters and content
  • Work on new platforms such as InYourPocket to support affiliate content and editorial revenue
  • Use social media, customer, and analytics tools to research, curate, and create content for specific projects
  • Provide editorial support in the form of photo sourcing, assisting with editorial promotions, and cost of living/money saving opportunities
  • Establish, maintain, and develop excellent relationships with content suppliers within the IYA communities

Requirements

  • Proven experience writing and sourcing engaging news-driven content
  • NCTJ qualification and Digital Certificate of Journalism (or equivalent)
  • Excellent media law and digital publishing skills
  • Good understanding of SEO best practices and a keen eye for what makes an engaging story
  • Team player with the ability to find, write, and publish content at pace
  • Social media savvy and able to share content on various platforms
