We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Needs Assistant to join our team in Lancaster. As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs in primary education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver tailored support and activities for children with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCOs to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Liaise with other professionals, including teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff, to ensure seamless support for children.
  • Work closely with other LSAs and support staff to provide a comprehensive support network for children.
  • Monitor and track the development of children, providing regular feedback and support to parents and carers.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with special educational needs.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors and provide a safe and supportive environment for children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant qualifications, including NVQ Level 2 in Children and Young People.
