We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Handler to join our Fleet and Specialist product team at Acorn Insurance & Financial Services LTD. As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist products in motor claims from start to settlement.
Key Responsibilities- Claims Validation and Assessment: Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud, assess liability, and communicate our decision to claimants or representatives.
- Claimant Communication: Establish our exposure in respect of all Heads of Damage, ensuring that key information is obtained and updated on the claim file.
- Quantum Assessment: Accurately assess claims presented using relevant tools and identify cases where intervening on vehicle losses will reduce our overall exposure.
- Indemnity Spend Management: Minimize indemnity spend by making commercial decisions and ensuring accurate reserves in line with company guidelines.
- Diary Management: Proactively manage your diary to monitor and progress cases.
- Accountability and Performance: Be accountable for your own performance against set objectives and adhere to best practice and key strategies.
- File and Portfolio Management: Effectively manage files and portfolios, and assist with coaching and mentoring of less experienced handlers.
- Strong Insurance Background: Possess a strong insurance background with a working knowledge in indemnity.
- Persuasive Communication: Be a persuasive, strong, and confident communicator with the ability to relationship manage.
- Initiative and Motivation: Use your own initiative to explore all options to achieve the best outcome for the business, and be a motivated self-starter.
- Teamwork and Culture: Be able to work as part of a team, and be able to work in a culture of openness, trust, and respect.
- Organisation and Analysis: Possess strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, and be able to fact find and analyse information to result in accurate decision making.
- Commercial Market Awareness: Have significant PI and/or credit hire claims experience, commercial market awareness, and extensive working knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules & hourly rate costs.
