We are seeking an experienced Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our team at Polaris Community, a leading provider of children's services. As a key member of our fostering team, you will play a vital role in supporting foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.
Key Responsibilities- Support and Supervise Foster Parents: Provide regular supervision to allocated foster parents, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
- Monitor Foster Parent Competence: Ensure foster parents are fully compliant with key documentation and are meeting the standards expected of them.
- Work in Partnership with Foster Families: Collaborate with foster families to identify needs and provide support, including respite, activities, and therapy.
- Attend Meetings and Provide Reports: Attend meetings with commissioning teams and provide reports to address individual packages of care.
- Promote Participation and Inclusion: Encourage children and young people to participate in the development of the agency and access resources and opportunities in their local community.
- Social Work Qualification: Hold a social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England or equivalent.
- Professional Experience: Have proven ability to produce high-quality report writing and a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
- Travel and Transportation: Be willing and able to travel extensively, including occasional nights away, and have a full driving license.
