We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our team at JC Metalworks. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in supporting our sales team by providing accurate and timely estimates to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely estimates: Ensure all estimates are completed accurately and within the specified timeframe.
  • Meeting customer needs: Verify that all information provided meets the customer's requirements.
  • Client briefs and advice: Take briefs from clients and the sales team for new projects. Offer expert advice on manufacturing methods to optimize cost and timelines.
  • Prompt responses: Respond to client inquiries promptly via phone and email, adhering to agreed service levels.
  • Quotation and follow-up: Provide clients with detailed estimates using the company's quotation software and follow up as needed.
  • Accurate specifications: Ensure that all specifications for procured parts are accurate and readily available for the Purchasing Department to schedule.
  • CRM maintenance: Keep the CRM software updated with relevant information daily.
  • Technical assistance: Provide technical advice and support to both customers and colleagues.
  • Cost reduction: Investigate opportunities to reduce costs in design, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients: You will need to build trust and rapport to drive client satisfaction and loyalty.
Requirements
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills
  • High Attention to detail
  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings
  • Ability to make decisions with sound and accurate judgment
  • Experience of using an MRP system would be an advantage but not essential
  • MS Office skills
  • Minimum GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent in English and Maths
