Senior Estimator (Rail Background)

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator on behalf of a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor known for delivering high-profile projects across the UK. This role is perfect for someone with a solid rail background who is ready to take on responsibility for estimating a wide range of rail and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders and estimates for rail infrastructure projects.
- Working closely with the Pre-Construction and Commercial teams to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Conducting site visits and liaising with key stakeholders to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
- Preparing detailed cost breakdowns and analysing subcontractor packages.
- Managing the tender process from initial inquiry to final submission, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Mentoring junior estimators and supporting the development of the estimating team.

Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the rail sector, with strong knowledge of rail infrastructure projects.
- A deep understanding of estimating processes, methodologies, and market rates.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
