NHS Governance Role

The Governance Lead will work closely with the Head of Nursing and Quality to develop and implement quality governance processes within the Directorate. This will ensure a comprehensive framework is in place to monitor and improve the quality of care.

The post holder will take a facilitative approach, empowering others to be open to new ideas and approaches that improve patient, carer, and staff experience. They will work with the Directorate Senior Management Team to ensure quality data is triangulated and validated.

The Governance Lead will ensure excellent standards of patient and staff safety, promoting a positive culture where incidents and root cause analysis are routine practice.

They will support the Head of Nursing and Quality to ensure quality is integral to the operational and strategic aims of the Directorate.

Main Responsibilities

The Governance Lead will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Head of Nursing and Quality in developing quality governance processes
  • Working with the Directorate Senior Management Team to ensure quality data is triangulated and validated
  • Ensuring excellent standards of patient and staff safety
  • Supporting the Head of Nursing and Quality to ensure quality is integral to the operational and strategic aims of the Directorate
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognised professional qualification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Leadership or management experience
Experience

The Governance Lead will have experience of leading on quality governance and assurance, with evidence of service development.
