About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hygiene Supervisor to join our team at Billington Foods. As a valued member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and implement effective hygiene cleaning schedules to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Lead and manage the hygiene team, providing expert knowledge and guidance on food contact and environmental hygiene requirements.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure adherence to hygiene best practices and protocols.
  • Investigate and resolve any hygiene-related non-conformances, ensuring prompt and effective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Plan and manage the cleaning and maintenance of factory equipment, including tins, racks, and frames.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the Holchem Platform and manage Chemical Inventory Control (CICs).
  • Support Shift Managers with non-conformance investigations and provide guidance on hygiene-related matters.
  • Monitor and manage all chemicals and hygiene consumables on site, ensuring timely replenishment and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage the site's Chemical, Hazardous and Explosive Substances (COSHH) requirements, including maintenance of chemical lists and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date hygiene traceability documentation, including presentation to customers and third-party auditors as required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in hygiene management within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP and COSH principles, with relevant qualifications desirable.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Management principles.
  • Previous experience in people management and leadership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
