Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our facility design team at Orion Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering integrated facility designs, ensuring safety documentation, and advising senior management on design suitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Engineering Representative: Responsible for delivery in terms of quality, meeting requirements, safety, value for money, and schedule.
  • Engineering Requirements: Ensure that engineering requirements are suitable and appropriate, and advise senior management.
  • Budget and Programme: Recommend budget and programme to deliver design solutions.
  • Design Resources: Assess the suitability of engineering design resources to execute facility design, ensuring adequate competency and competency records.
  • Facility Design: Lead, drive, communicate, and deliver facility designs with due regard to safety, quality, schedule, cost effectiveness, and lifetime value for money.
  • Design Oversight: Maintain oversight of facility design as it develops via routine reviews.
  • Design Solutions: Deliver design solutions that meet business needs, functional performance, through-life performance, and are licensable and deliverable.
  • Design Intent and Information: Manage the design intent and design information configuration from inception through to project handover.
  • Change and Improvement: Provide functional support in identifying and implementing change, development, and improvement.
  • Facility Design Capability: Assist the Head of Design Engineering in developing the facility design capability within the company, encompassing both improvements and resource skills development.

  • Manufacturing Lifecycle Design Experience
  • Project/Process Management and Engineering Management Experience
  • Stakeholder Management Skills
  • Knowledge of Kanban, Mechanical Interlocks, and Gloveboxes
