About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our specialist Psychology Team in Bournemouth, working with adults with Learning Disabilities. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will provide assessment, formulation, and treatment to adults with learning disabilities who have a range of psychological conditions.

Our team uses a variety of therapy specialties, including EMDR, CAT, ACT, and CBT, and is involved in exciting initiatives such as developing a new neuropsychology testing pack, capacity assessments, research, and more.

You will also assist with supervision to assistant psychologists and doctoral trainee clinical psychologists, providing excellent clinical supervision and opportunities to develop professional skills.

For newly qualified Clinical Psychologists, we offer a comprehensive and supported Preceptorship Programme from Band 7 to Band 8a for this role.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, formulation, and treatment to adults with learning disabilities
  • Assist with supervision to assistant psychologists and doctoral trainee clinical psychologists
  • Develop and implement therapy plans, using a variety of therapy specialties
  • Contribute to the development of new initiatives, such as the neuropsychology testing pack
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive care to adults with learning disabilities

Requirements
  • Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC
  • Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis
  • Experience of clinical supervision for trainee and assistant clinical psychologists
  • Knowledge of legislation, white papers, etc. and implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to older adults and adults with Learning Disabilities
  • Membership of HCPC
