About the Role

The Senior Microbiological Technologist will provide in-depth technical expertise and direct support to the Microbiology Team Manager/Technical Expert. Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling of work within the team, using OE tools to plan workload and maintain schedule.
  • Creating documentation, methods, procedures, protocols, and reports to agreed targets.
  • Managing and documenting investigations with minimum input from Team Manager, demonstrating use of problem-solving tools, and ensuring appropriate CAPA is in place.
  • Representing Microbiology by liaising efficiently and effectively with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Logistics, and Project Teams as required.
  • Demonstrating clear, reliable, and timely decision-making skills, providing general support, and deputising for Team Manager.
  • Supporting audit readiness and representing the site in areas of technical expertise in internal/external audits.
  • Undertaking training of staff to achieve high standards, providing ongoing coaching and mentoring in areas of technical expertise.

Requirements

We are looking for professionals with the following required skills:

  • BSc Microbiology or related degree.
  • Track record of coaching and mentoring others in technical areas.
  • Expert knowledge in at least three areas of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, i.e., Microbiology Validation, Laboratory Testing Methods, Process Microbiology.
  • Track record of completing deviation and laboratory investigations.
  • Quality report writing.
  • Planning capability.
