Job Title: Senior Microbiological Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microbiological Technologist to join our team at GlaxoSmithKline. As a key member of our Microbiology Team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to ensure the quality and safety of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and manage work within the team, using our Operational Excellence (OE) tools to plan workload and maintain schedules.
  • Create and maintain documentation, methods, procedures, protocols, and reports to agreed targets.
  • Manage and document investigations, demonstrating problem-solving skills and ensuring appropriate Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) is in place.
  • Represent Microbiology by liaising with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Logistics, and Project Teams as required.
  • Provide general support and deputise for the Team Manager as needed.
  • Support audit readiness and represent the site in areas of technical expertise in internal/external audits.
  • Undertake training of staff to achieve high standards, providing ongoing coaching and mentoring in areas of technical expertise.
Requirements:
  • BSc Microbiology or related degree.
  • Track record of coaching and mentoring others in technical areas.
  • Expert knowledge in at least three areas of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, including Microbiology Validation, Laboratory Testing Methods, and Process Microbiology.
  • Track record of completing deviation and laboratory investigations.
  • Quality report writing.
  • Planning capability.
