Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Security Officer to join our team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our staff, patients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance of security to protect people and property, deter and detect crime, and provide a reassuring presence.
- Work as part of a dynamic team to ensure the smooth operation of security services.
- Respond to routine and emergency situations, using diplomacy skills to diffuse and de-escalate aggressive behavior.
- Physically assist in restraining violent individuals, while being sensitive to the needs of upset and anxious patients and visitors.
- Contribute to the effective management of car parking facilities.
- Operate the Control Room, managing CCTV, door intercom systems, and access control systems.
- Receive and respond to phone calls and radio communications from security officers and service users.
Requirements:
- Previous security experience in a large and diverse organization is advantageous.
- Possession of an SIA Door Supervisor license and an SIA CCTV license is desirable.
- A full driving license is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to file reports and undertake tasks using computer software.
- Willingness to undertake training as required.
Working Environment: This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing a high level of customer service and ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors.
