Position Overview: As the designated coordinator, your main responsibility is to guarantee that the organization adheres to all applicable standards and regulations, including legal and customer expectations, regarding quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters at the organizational level, ensuring alignment with legal and corporate EHS protocols.
  • Administer the company's Quality Management System, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), while offering technical assistance to various departments through education, guidance, and problem resolution.
  • Promote a robust safety culture within the organization and serve as the primary technical liaison for all stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and third-party entities, particularly concerning certifications and accreditations.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety systems, including BRC, ISO14001, FSC, and ISCC.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement processes and procedures aimed at enhancing food safety, health and safety, environmental systems, hygiene, work instructions, document management, change management, internal audits, pest control, specifications, and supplier approvals.
  • Act as the site lead for hygiene, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as environmental and health & safety enhancements.
  • Establish systems to fulfill current certification, customer, and legal obligations.
  • Formulate a HACCP team to supervise the site's system review, execution, and compliance.
  • Lead site HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP initiatives, ensuring the application of suitable review processes and effective document management.
  • Build strong partnerships with clients and on-site personnel to devise and implement strategies for reducing complaints. Conduct thorough investigations into complaints, identify root causes, and apply appropriate corrective actions.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Health (QESH) systems and overall site performance.
  • Facilitate training for relevant personnel in EHS topics, such as manual handling, fire safety, and permit-to-work protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Food Sciences or a related field, with a proven history as a technical specialist in a high-volume food or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
  • Prior experience in a similar role focused on safety and quality, with expert knowledge.
  • Fundamental experience as a food safety certification auditor.
  • Maintaining food safety certification is essential and should be documented.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the food industry.
