Job Summary: As a Cardiac Catheterization Nurse Specialist at Regent's Park Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in assisting cardiologists during diagnostic investigations and procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, and PCI procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Expertise- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programs of care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Record vital signs and report any deterioration of clinical condition to senior nurses.
- Recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and summon help when necessary.
- Perform and interpret ECGs, venepuncture, and cannulation.
- Scrubs for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, and PCI procedures.
- Teach and supervise junior staff nurses and unqualified staff.
- Ability to lead the unit team if required.
- Helps prepare and escort patients under supervision if needed.
- Prepares the lab for clinical procedures.
- Maintains absolute confidentiality.
- Interprets clinical observations and records, making decisions affecting patient care.
- Assists with manual handling and transferring of patients.
- Maintains the privacy and dignity of patients and staff at all times.
- Delivers a high-quality cardiology service to patients at all times.
- Leads care management and delivery.
- Shares professionalism and clinical expertise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ensures high standards of care to all service users.
- Works within the framework of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Acts as a role model for junior staff.
- Maintains own professional practice and knowledge of new developments.
- Promotes and participates in research initiatives.
