Team Overview

Our dedicated Risk Consulting team delivers services across key strategic markets:

  • Public Sector: We offer unique audit and advisory services across multiple domains, including local and central government, healthcare, housing, and charitable organizations.
  • Financial Sector: As one of the largest providers of Risk Assurance services in finance, we collaborate with numerous banks, insurance firms, and asset management companies, including major market players.
  • Industry & Services: We cater primarily to private sector clients, ranging from large multinational corporations to small businesses across various industries in the UK and beyond.
Role Overview

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver proactive, high-quality programme and project advisory, audit, and assurance services to our Public Service clients.

This position will mainly involve coordinating and executing a variety of programme and project assurance services, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines. Additionally, you will play a vital role in business development and contribute to the training and growth of the broader team.

Our team has experienced significant growth recently and is well-positioned for further expansion, offering excellent opportunities for advancement for successful candidates. You will also contribute to the overall success of the Risk Consulting service line and its ongoing enhancement.

While current work is conducted remotely, future roles may require some on-site presence as conditions permit. This position can be based in various locations, with travel depending on client and business needs.

We are committed to supporting the successful candidate in their pursuit of a Project Management Qualification.

You will report to the Assistant Manager overseeing Project and Programme Assurance for Public Services within Risk Consulting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support the overall work programme for Programme and Project Assurance for Public Service clients.
  • Plan and execute fieldwork, including closing meetings with management.
  • Prepare draft reports.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Assist with special assignments as needed.
  • Provide on-the-job training and supervision for junior team members.
  • Organize tasks and responsibilities based on the needs and skills of those under supervision.
  • Manage assignments from planning to draft report preparation within agreed timelines.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Maintain composure under pressure while recognizing deadlines.
  • Respond effectively to client and team member needs.
  • Deliver clear presentations of service features and benefits to clients.
  • Ensure services provided are genuinely suitable for the client.
  • Identify opportunities for new work.
  • Maintain team standards and procedures.
  • Provide constructive feedback for team member performance evaluations.
  • Produce high-quality work in compliance with the Firm's policies and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience in project and programme management or working within a PMO.
  • Experience delivering reviews in the Public Services sector.
  • Strong understanding of relevant frameworks and guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Experience in managing, training, and mentoring trainees.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive in enhancing expertise and knowledge.
  • Able to develop new initiatives and methodologies.
  • Capable of identifying issues through sound analysis and commercial insight.
  • Supportive of team development and sharing of experiences.
  • Take ownership of projects and delegate effectively within the team.
  • Begin to cultivate a network of client contacts and broader market connections.
