Exciting Opportunity for a Cost Estimator in the Construction Sector

We are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Cost Estimator to become part of the Galliford Try team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms, pricing, and schedules.
  • Oversee subcontract work packages, ensuring interim evaluations and change management are effectively handled.
  • Generate and distribute all necessary commercial notifications.
  • Manage alterations in line with the contractual agreement.
  • Prepare and finalize monthly applications for payment.
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering teams.
  • Maintain a comprehensive 'Cost to Complete' report.
  • Analyze expenditure reports for accuracy.
  • Participate in progress and early warning discussions.
  • Implement strategies to maximize value and profitability.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Civil Engineering setting with a main contractor.
  • Relevant Professional Qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Experience in commercial management and procurement processes.
  • Exposure to large-scale projects.
  • Strong proficiency in IT applications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies.
  • Exceptional time management abilities.
  • Professional qualifications such as MCICES or MRICS are preferred.
