Chief of Staff to the Chief Product Officer

We are seeking a Chief of Staff to the Chief Product Officer to serve as a trusted advisor and right-hand to our CPO. This role will focus on multiplying the CPO function by increasing its reach and effectiveness, and elevating SumUp's global Product Management chapter.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product planning and development, with experience in software companies that adopt industry best practices. They will be responsible for driving the implementation of best practices to improve operational efficiency, facilitating communication with internal stakeholders, owning strategic initiatives, and serving as a sounding board to the CPO.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Coordinating product planning cycles with the CPO, Product VPs, and PM Leads to increase cross-tribe alignment and visibility.
  2. Driving the planning and adoption of PM chapter initiatives, such as progression frameworks, PM Bootcamp, and Buddy schemes.
  3. Collaborating with the Global Engineering Core, CTO Office, Design chapter, and Product Marketing chapter to improve collaboration between functional chapters.
  4. Planning, leading, and executing specific product development projects in key areas where additional PM leadership is required.
  5. Working with the CPO and Strategy and Corporate Development Office to assess M&A opportunities and coordinate due diligence from a product perspective.
  6. Collaborating with the CPO and global Product community to understand product success metrics and how they are tracked and used in product decision making.
