Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a leading SEN college. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with diverse and complex needs.

About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to deliver tailored educational programs and activities that cater to the unique needs of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties, and medical needs.
  • Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs) to ensure each student receives the best possible support.
  • Supporting students with daily living skills, personal care, and mobility as needed.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters social interaction and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure holistic support for each student.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and reporting to relevant staff members.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities and conditions such as PMLD, autism, and behaviours of concern.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
