We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team at a leading SEN college. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with diverse and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programs and activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties, and medical needs.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs), promoting student progress and well-being.
- Support students with daily living skills, personal care, and mobility as needed, fostering independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure holistic support for each student, promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual respect.
- Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs, with a strong understanding of various disabilities and conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students.
