Position Summary: We are seeking skilled Automation Systems Engineers to join our team, contributing to the delivery of cutting-edge solutions for the water industry across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in the design, implementation, and support of automation and control systems tailored for the water sector.
  2. Conduct thorough planning and execution of intrusive assessments on operational control systems, ensuring risk management throughout the process.
  3. Develop comprehensive design proposals that outline the scope of work for new construction and refurbishment projects.
  4. Specify the necessary hardware and software components for control systems.
  5. Collaborate with electrical engineers to create robust Control Systems Architectures that adhere to client specifications and industry standards.
  6. Establish a Software Testing strategy for projects, ensuring adequate resources and time are allocated.
  7. Identify project requirements to deliver Control System components in alignment with project timelines.
  8. Create detailed Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and associated schedules in accordance with quality procedures.
  9. Implement effective change control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
  10. Develop and self-validate control system software to meet the functionality outlined in the FDS.
  11. Prepare Factory Acceptance Test documentation and ensure thorough testing and resolution of any identified defects.
  12. Provide expert control system support to commissioning teams both in the workshop and on-site.
  13. Conduct Site Acceptance Testing of control systems against established documentation.
  14. Offer technical guidance and support to design, delivery, and management teams on automation-related challenges.
  15. Oversee the specification, development, installation, and validation of automation projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary and corporate guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, electronic, automation, or chemical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and commissioning control and electrical systems for process automation, particularly in the water and hydro power sectors.
  • Proficient in developing Control Systems solutions utilizing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), HMI/SCADA, and telemetry systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and the ability to integrate and modify existing systems in live environments.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
  • Possession of an ECS/CSCS card and a valid UK Driving Licence.
