Electrical Control Engineer

AG Barr is seeking an Electrical Control Engineer to support the functionality of PLC/HMI and process automation technology for the UK's best-loved soft drinks manufacturer.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to world-class engineering and technology. As an Electrical Control Engineer, you will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure assets are operating at their optimum efficiency, maximizing output and consistently meeting targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing planned maintenance programmes and schedules to maximize efficiency
  • Analysing line efficiency, wastage, and downtime data to identify areas for performance improvement
  • Carrying out fault diagnosis and repair breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime
  • Working closely with the Project Engineering Team to deliver critical elements of the business CAPEX plan
  • Developing PLC/Network standards to support IT/OT infrastructure
  • Maintaining a high standard of control over Management of Change processes
  • Providing a deeper understanding of safety systems and automation to the engineering and projects teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum HNC level or equivalent in an Electrical engineering discipline, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering control and automation. You will also need in-depth knowledge of computerized maintenance systems and processes.

Preferred skills include experience in a multi-skilled food manufacturing or FMCG environment, proven knowledge of initiating and implementing continuous improvements, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma techniques, as well as experience working with Siemens S7 PLC's and TIA Portal.
