Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified MOT Tester to enhance our local Retail Branch operations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting class IV vehicle inspections following the established guidelines set by the vehicle inspectorate.
  • Completing all necessary documentation related to class IV vehicle inspections and submitting reports as required.
  • Identifying issues and faulty components in line with company standards.
  • Communicating with customers regarding necessary and advisory work, providing clear explanations for the required services.
  • Removing and refitting components that need repair, ensuring proper and secure installation.
  • Performing tyre adjustments according to technical standards and personal competencies.
  • Assisting the Depot Manager in ensuring maintenance programs and required calibrations comply with Ministry regulations.
  • Regularly inspecting tools and equipment to confirm their suitability for conducting MOT inspections.
  • Supporting other technical tasks such as vehicle servicing, brake work, suspension repairs, exhaust installations, and tyre fitting when not engaged in MOT testing.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A valid Class 4 MOT Testing Licence.
  • Knowledge of wheel alignment procedures, tyre issues, fitting processes, exhaust systems, suspension, and brakes.
  • A reliable track record with good attendance and punctuality.
  • Proof of the right to work in the U.K.
  • The ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • A hardworking, flexible, and proactive attitude.

Job Type

This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £32,000.00 per year.

Schedule

Work hours include:

  • Day shifts, with no Sunday hours or bank holidays, totaling 5.5 days per week.
