Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting class IV vehicle inspections following the established protocols set by the vehicle inspectorate.
- Completing all necessary documentation related to class IV vehicle inspections and submitting required reports to the inspectorate.
- Identifying necessary repairs and faulty components in line with company standards.
- Communicating with customers regarding required and advisory work, providing comprehensive explanations for the necessity of such work.
- Removing and reinstalling components that need repair, ensuring all parts are securely and correctly fitted.
- Performing tyre adjustments in accordance with technical standards and personal competencies.
- Assisting the Depot Manager in ensuring that maintenance programs and necessary calibrations comply with Ministry requirements.
- Regularly inspecting tools and equipment to confirm their suitability for conducting MOT inspections.
- When not engaged in MOT testing, assisting with other technical tasks such as servicing vehicles, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, and tyre fitting.
This list is not exhaustive but highlights the primary aspects and expectations of the role.
Candidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid Class 4 MOT Testing Licence.
- Knowledge of wheel alignment procedures, tyre issues, fitting processes, exhaust systems, suspension, and brakes, along with the ability to address related problems.
- Reliability and a strong record of attendance and punctuality.
- Proof of the right to work in the U.K.
- The capability to maintain composure under pressure.
- A hardworking nature with a flexible, can-do attitude.
