Job Description

Job Title: Community Paediatrician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Paediatrician to join our team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. As a Community Paediatrician, you will be responsible for providing expert care to children and young people with a range of developmental, genetic, and neurological problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert assessment, investigation, and continuity of care for children presenting with developmental, genetic, and neurological problems.
  • Assess and manage children with neurodevelopmental difficulties, including ADHD, ASD, and learning difficulties.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment and management in a collaborative way with all members of the team.
  • Provide paediatric advice and support for pupils attending a Special School.
  • Participate in clinical governance, audit, and risk management processes.
  • Support the clinical decision making of junior medical and nursing staff.
  • Take a full role in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including clinical meetings and tutorials.

Requirements:

  • Trained in Community Paediatrics and completed higher specialist training (or recognised equivalent).
  • On the specialist register or within 6 months of registration at the time of interview.
  • Experience in safeguarding children and Level 3 trained.
  • Ability to work closely with multiagency partners.
