About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Consultant to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to children and young people in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-led community paediatric services to children and families in south Northamptonshire.
  • Conduct regular outpatient clinics and assessments of children with neurodevelopmental difficulties.
  • Liaise with schools and education authorities to ensure seamless care for our patients.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments and management of children with complex needs.
  • Provide paediatric advice and support to pupils attending special schools.
Requirements
  • MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
  • CCT for Community Child Health or evidence of Level 3 competencies in Community Child Health.
  • On the GMC specialist register or within 3 months of CCT.
  • 5 years Higher Specialist Training, including 3 years in Community Paediatrics.
  • At least 2 years General Professional Training in Paediatrics.
  • Training and experience of safeguarding work and possession of up to date Level 3 Safeguarding training.
