Job Description

TalentHawk is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in championing the use of Power BI across the organization, delivering next-generation reports and insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making.

Data Integration and Transformation

  • Develop and manage advanced BI solutions using Power BI and Fabric, ensuring seamless data integration and transformation.
  • Perform ETL processes to integrate data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and cloud-based services.

Report and Dashboard Development

  • Design and create interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, leveraging data visualization best practices to communicate complex insights effectively.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding.

Data Modeling and Analysis

  • Build efficient data models and schemas, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Conduct complex data analysis to uncover trends and insights, using statistical techniques and data mining methodologies.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to understand objectives, ensuring that BI solutions meet business needs.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI, ensuring effective adoption and utilization.

Performance Optimization

  • Optimize dashboards and reports for performance and scalability, ensuring seamless user experience.
  • Implement data management and governance best practices, ensuring data security and compliance.

Technical Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, ensuring that technical information is easily accessible and understandable.

Troubleshooting and Support

  • Monitor and troubleshoot BI solutions for accuracy and reliability, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.

Innovation and Improvement

  • Stay updated on the latest BI technologies and trends, applying new knowledge and skills to enhance BI processes and solutions.
  • Continuously enhance BI processes and solutions, ensuring that they remain relevant and effective in meeting business needs.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query, with experience in developing and managing advanced BI solutions.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with ETL processes, ensuring seamless data integration and transformation.
  • Capable of deriving actionable insights from complex data sets, using statistical techniques and data mining methodologies.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring that BI solutions meet business needs.

Project Management

  • Ability to manage workloads and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, ensuring that BI solutions are developed and delivered in a flexible and iterative manner.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field, ensuring a strong foundation in technical skills and knowledge.
  • Relevant certifications in Power BI or data analytics, demonstrating expertise and commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar BI role, ensuring a strong track record of delivering BI solutions that meet business needs.
  • Proven track record of deploying BI solutions, ensuring that they are effective, efficient, and well-received by stakeholders.
  • Experience in the UK Energy Supply or Utilities industry, ensuring a deep understanding of the sector and its challenges.
