About the Role

The Cabinet Office is seeking an experienced Legal Delivery Manager to join the UK Covid-19 Inquiry team. As a key member of the Legal Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of the Inquiry's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Lead Paralegals to ensure high-quality output and delivery at pace.
  • Communicate effectively with legal stakeholders, including solicitor and counsel teams, to monitor overall progress and manage expectations.
  • Plan the management of resources across the paralegal team to support disclosure and hearing delivery in line with the Inquiry's timetable.
  • Develop and deliver a program of continuous training to the Inquiry Legal Team.
  • Support with recruitment activity and onboard new team members.
  • Collaborate with other internal Inquiry teams, focusing on disclosure progress and processes.
  • Promote an inclusive and supportive working environment.
  • Line manage a team of Lead Paralegals and conduct regular performance reviews and discussions to encourage professional development.

Requirements

  • Experience of leading and managing a high-performing team of legal professionals.
  • Experience of engaging and communicating with legal stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience managing a large-scale disclosure project.
  • Degree at 2:1 or above.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience working on a public inquiry or similar large-scale investigations.
  • Experience working with an Electronic Management System (EMS).
  • Experience of performance management.

Working Arrangements

A minimum of 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
