We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Retail Operations Manager to oversee our charity store on a full-time, fixed-term basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our donation centre, guiding a team of staff to optimize sales and profitability. Your efforts will significantly contribute to generating funds for the vital services and support we provide to children, young people, parents, and caregivers across the nation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive stock donations from the public and encourage donors to participate in the Gift Aid scheme.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service standards as expected by our organization.
  • Execute promotional activities in the store as instructed by senior management.
  • Ensure the store's presentation is consistently high-quality, both in display windows and throughout the interior.
  • Guarantee that essential stock is readily available on the sales floor at all times.
  • Provide training, development, and performance reviews for staff to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster a well-organized and enjoyable working environment for both staff and volunteers.
  • Actively recruit volunteers to meet the store's objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Adhere to all financial, cash handling, and security protocols as outlined in the management manual.
  • Secure the store by holding the keys and ensuring it is locked when unattended.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse individuals.
  • Capability to meet customer needs in person to drive sales and enhance shop usage.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic to manage budgets and accurately complete financial records.
  • Experience in cash handling and accurate reconciliation.
  • Track record of achieving targets and key performance indicators.
  • Basic proficiency in IT.

Our retail division comprises over 700 stores nationwide, reliant on public and corporate donations, generating funds through the sale of donated items. The variety of shops includes traditional charity outlets, bookstores, and furniture stores.
