About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Acute Stroke Service at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our stroke services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within the 4 pillars of advanced practice, providing expert assessment and management of patients with suspected acute stroke.
  • Manage hyper acute stroke pathways, including access to reperfusion interventions such as intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy.
  • Practice independently and in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, under the clinical supervision of a consultant and/or Specialist Registrar.
  • Undertake advanced clinical assessment, analysing complex clinical signs, findings from physical examination, patient history, and investigation results to diagnose stroke/non-stroke medical/surgical conditions.
  • Interpret clinical results and act on findings, initiating treatments accordingly.
  • Manage own autonomous caseload of patients through TIA clinic and participate in a weekend TIA rota for high-risk patients.
  • Contribute to the education and development of members of the multidisciplinary team through formal and informal teaching sessions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of acute stroke, using information to affect change in practice and ensure the effective dissemination of new knowledge.
