About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ward Manager to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the daily management of our Female Acute Ward, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the assessment of care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care for clients with mental health needs.
  • Participate in ward meetings, initiating and discussing new methods/models of care and the introduction of research or trials within a designated area.
  • Ensure the environment is maintained to high standards at all times, adhering to CQC standards and disseminating information to all staff.
  • Lead the team in ensuring full compliance with standards laid out in the Trust's CPA Policy, upholding the principle of Admission Procedure, and pre-planning discharges.
  • Act at all times in accordance with the Midwifery and Nursing Council Code of Professional Practice 2015, Scope of Professional Practice, and other relevant guidelines.
Person Specification
  • Registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Part 3.
  • Meet the requirements for revalidation as set out by the NMC.
  • Proven experience of working in a health/social care or acute setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of working with, supervising lower-banded staff, and managing the care of service users with highly complex needs.
