Position Overview

*Due to stringent security clearance protocols, we can only consider candidates who have resided in the UK for a minimum of five consecutive years.*

The Technical Architect will be tasked with:

  • Creating comprehensive documentation for system and solution designs that adhere to NEC/SSS Public Safety standards.
  • Presenting design concepts and justifications to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Updating and refining designs in accordance with project modifications.
  • Collaborating with third-party vendors and clients to finalize architectural components.
  • Providing design leadership and guidance to the project team through proactive engagement with all relevant parties.
  • Working closely with internal departments such as Sales and Product teams to ensure governance, evaluations, and approvals are met.
  • Accepting a car allowance for necessary business travel.
  • Engaging with customers on both technical and non-technical matters, requiring a professional and flexible communication style.
  • Exhibiting a high degree of autonomy in managing time and tasks effectively.
  • Completing all responsibilities within established deadlines and promptly reporting any challenges in meeting delivery targets.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor and attitude in all tasks undertaken.
  • Ensuring a tidy work environment and adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Who are you?

  • Preferably educated to HND/HNC level or possess relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in IT-centric server and client environments.
  • Proficient in producing detailed design documentation.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows client and server architecture (Windows 10/11, up to Server 2019/2022), primarily utilizing DELL hardware or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory/domain architecture.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation abilities.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Experienced in using design and documentation tools such as MS Visio, along with MS Applications including Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Business Applications including Excel and Word.
  • Outstanding customer service capabilities.
  • Proven track record of adhering to ITIL best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or higher qualification in a technical discipline.
  • Prior experience in developing technical solution designs for IT systems.
  • Familiarity with formal design methodologies such as TOGAF.
  • Understanding of SIP protocol.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Batch, MySQL, PowerShell).
  • Experience with Hyper-V Failover Clustering.
  • Knowledge of telephony systems (Cisco UCCE/Avaya Blue/Avaya Red/Mitel/Shortel/Asterisk).
  • Experience with MySQL/MSSQL (User Administration, job creation including backups, query writing/understanding).
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure (solution design, deployment, or security).
