Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Operator

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Hourly Rate: £11.78

Working Hours: 12-hour shifts on a 4-on/4-off days and nights pattern

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Operator to join our client's team in Cardiff. As a key member of the warehouse team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse, maintaining high standards of health and safety, and contributing to the company's goal of producing 1.2 million tonnes of low emission circular steel from UK sourced scrap metal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure pre-start inspections are completed for crane or FLT or Terburg operation
  • Follow work procedures and ensure hauliers wear correct PPE when on site
  • Load transport vehicles in accordance with procedures
  • Communicate with Team Leader regarding stock issues and complete 5s activities daily
  • Scan material from production to location when part of the evacuation team
  • Participate in spot checks with operators to ensure material entering the warehouse is not defective
  • Check rail wagons for correct number of bundles and address any issues before collection
  • Follow procedure for pull-outs for vehicles leaving site
  • Participate in audits of operators against procedures set
  • Assist with investigations of complaints on shift

Requirements:

  • Valid driving licence (required for fork truck operation)
