Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Management System Coordinator to join our client's team in Derbyshire. As a key member of the quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Management: Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
  • HACCP Team Lead: Lead the HACCP team in the development and maintenance of HACCP manuals and procedures.
  • Quality Meetings: Organize and facilitate regular quality meetings with the site technical team to discuss quality issues and improvements.
  • Product Quality: Ensure that all products manufactured meet customer requirements and are within specification.
  • Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Drive compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Auditing and Reporting: Conduct audits of process records and report on performance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
  • Customer Quality Standards: Agree achievable quality standards with customers and ensure they are maintained on an ongoing basis.
  • Site Hygiene: Ensure that site hygiene standards are met and hygiene audits are carried out regularly.
  • Procurement Process: Support the stock controller in ensuring the technical integrity of the procurement process.
  • Corrective Procedures: Monitor and audit the effectiveness of corrective procedures relating to customer complaints.
  • Third-Party Audits: Advise, coordinate, and prepare for third-party audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of five years' experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance: Absolute passion for food safety, legality, and quality.
  • Food Safety Systems: In-depth working knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP, COSHH, and relevant food legislation.
  • Team Management: Experience mentoring and training quality and production teams in all aspects of technical standards.
  • Team Leadership: Experience, knowledge, and a track record of managing teams.
  • Flexibility and Problem-Solving: A high level of flexibility and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • BRC and Major Retailer Audit Experience: Experience with BRC and major retailer audits.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, liaising with internal and external contacts.
  • HACCP Systems Knowledge: HACCP systems knowledge.
  • Quality Issues: Experience advising on quality issues, raising non-conformances, completing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Microsoft Packages: Proficient in Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
