About the Role

Norit Activated Carbon is a leading global supplier of innovative activated carbon solutions. We are dedicated to providing cleaner and safer production environments for companies, municipalities, and end-users worldwide.

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team to ensure the accurate and timely completion of analytical testing on samples in accordance with our Quality System, Work Instructions, and Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Analytical Testing: Conduct regular analytical testing to monitor compliance criteria and ensure the quality of our activated carbon products.
  • Execute Systematic Analysis: Analyze products, processes, and raw materials to identify areas for improvement and optimize our production processes.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Analysis Team: Work closely with our laboratory team to ensure seamless communication and efficient testing processes.
  • Ensure Accurate Recording and Maintenance of Quality Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of testing results and quality control measures.
  • Provide Reliable Analysis to Support Product Quality Control: Provide timely and accurate analysis to support our product quality control and dispatch processes.
  • Report Analysis Exceptions: Identify and report any exceptions or anomalies in testing results to the Laboratory Manager or relevant authority.
  • Support Safety, Health, and Environment, Process Engineering, Operations Teams: Collaborate with our teams to ensure compliance with safety protocols, health regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Be Aware of and Notify Food Safety Issues: Identify and report any food safety issues related to HACCP, Kosher, or Halal requirements.
  • Undertake Other Duties as Required: Perform other duties as required by the Laboratory Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our laboratory.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Equivalent Experience: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Science or have equivalent experience in a production laboratory.
  • Demonstrable Experience in Laboratory Analysis: Have demonstrable experience in laboratory analysis, preferably in activated carbon testing or similar chemical environments.
  • Strong Experimental Skills: Possess strong experimental skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Have effective communication skills at all levels, including written and verbal communication.
  • Detail-Oriented with Excellent Time Management: Be detail-oriented and have excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Proactive, Organized, and Goal-Driven: Be proactive, organized, and goal-driven to achieve results and improve processes.
  • Adherence to Safety Protocols and Good Lab Practices: Adhere to safety protocols and good lab practices to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Knowledge of Quality Control/Assurance Standards, ISO, and SOPs: Have knowledge of quality control/assurance standards, ISO, and SOPs to ensure compliance and best practices.
