About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a SEND Learning Support Assistant. As a key member of our staff, you will provide support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your primary responsibility will be to build positive relationships with students, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement and motivation. You will work closely with our teaching staff to develop and implement individualized support plans, ensuring that each student receives the necessary support to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with teaching staff
  • Build positive relationships with students, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure seamless support and communication

About the School

Our school is a specialist education and care provider, registered to take up to 50 children and young people aged 5-18 years with a range of needs, including SEMH, complex needs, and high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment that enables our students to thrive.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND and SEMH needs
  • A qualification in Team Teach or a similar behavior management system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for improving outcomes for young people

Protocol Education

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. This may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants. We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
