Lanxess UK is seeking a highly experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Maintenance Engineering at our Trafford Park site.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the mechanical disciplines for the Lanxess Trafford Park site, implementing and developing maintenance standards and workflows.
- Manage the introduction and implementation of maintenance standards in line with Lanxess regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Ensure inspection and maintenance routines are suitable and sufficient to enhance reliability, compliance, and safety.
- Line manage the Mechanical Maintenance team and contractors, taking an active role in the leadership team of the engineering department.
- Develop competency within the mechanical department.
- Ensure continuous improvements of maintenance procedures, workflows, and standards.
- Ensure team members attend required regular trainings according to the training matrix.
- Involvement in process safety and hazard analysis (HAZOP) and process safety compliance with realization of process safety measures within area of responsibility.
- Responsible for management of change in relation to technical and engineering facilities.
- Ensure the mechanical integrity of the plant consistent with corporate, and UK legislation and standards.
- Logging, evaluating, and controlling of the maintenance key performance indicators (KPI).
- Take ownership of escalated maintenance issues, carrying out trouble shooting and developing technical solutions to safety, process, and reliability issues.
- Feed into maintenance and shutdown planning routine and critical tasks.
- In cooperation with the Head of Projects; Identification, definition, and management of small capital plant projects within the budget and timeline.
- Carry out engineering design and specify equipment for small projects and modifications.
We are looking for an experienced people manager with proven engineering experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or petrochemical plant on either lower or upper tier COMAH sites. Confident in managing multidisciplinary teams and medium to large maintenance and capital budgets.
Requirements include a degree in Chemical Engineering, knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environment Legislation and Engineering Standards, and a good understanding of maintenance processes and experience of plant engineering activity. Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems is also required.
