About the Role

Clermont Trust is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join its legal team. As a key member of the team, you will provide legal support on the establishment and management of trusts and corporate structures, as well as assist with the implementation of international legal, tax, and regulatory advice within those structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of trust, commercial, and legal documents, including trustee and company minutes and resolutions.
  • Support the implementation of externally sourced tax and legal advice within Clermont-managed structures.
  • Liaise with legal and tax advisors, accountants, and other service providers.
  • Offer practical options and solutions to achieve objectives and solve issues for new and existing structures.
  • Update internal resources and precedents to reflect legal and regulatory developments.
  • Maintain and improve Clermont's internal processes and systems to cater for legislative changes.
  • Manage specific projects to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, including the UK Trust Registration Service and the UK's Register of Overseas Entities.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the industry.
  • STEP-qualified lawyer (preferably, but not necessarily, qualified in a common law jurisdiction).
  • Excellent written English.
  • A solid understanding of trusts, companies, and other corporate vehicles, including relevant legal and compliance aspects.
