As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of pedestrians and promoting a culture of road safety awareness.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide a safe and efficient school crossing service to children and their parents/guardians.
- Use your judgment of speed and distance to determine when it is safe to stop traffic and allow pedestrians to cross the road.
- Work collaboratively with local residents, parents, and school staff to promote road safety awareness and encourage responsible behavior.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of road use and traffic awareness to ensure the safe passage of pedestrians.
**Requirements**
- Good verbal communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and other stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of road safety principles and practices.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
- A commitment to promoting a culture of road safety awareness and responsible behavior.
**Working Arrangements**
This is a term-time only position, with duty times covering the period before school opens in the morning and the period after the school closes in the afternoon. The successful candidate will be required to work a regular schedule, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
