Position Overview

Join a progressive and innovative team dedicated to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults within the healthcare sector.

We are in search of a seasoned professional with extensive experience in child safeguarding to assist in elevating our services from good to outstanding. This role involves providing exceptional leadership and contributing to the execution of our safeguarding strategy.

As a Named Professional for Safeguarding, you will deliver top-tier guidance and supervision throughout our services, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with other safeguarding professionals and operational staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the safeguarding advice service, including training and policy development.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding requirements for children and young people.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of local policies and procedures based on national guidelines.
  • Effectively coordinate safeguarding activities to promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Provide expert clinical advice on safeguarding practices to all staff, particularly within the inpatient unit.
  • Engage in cross-organizational collaboration to enhance safeguarding training and education.

This role will involve strategic and operational partnership working, addressing safeguarding challenges, and developing comprehensive training programs for staff.

Probationary Period

Compensation

This role includes a High Cost Area Supplement, enhancing the overall salary package.

Applicants must possess appropriate UK professional registration and meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification.

Skills and Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection.
  • Proven experience in safeguarding across both adult and child services.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
