Job Title: Product Design Director
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Product Design Director to lead our global product design strategy at Michelin Connected Fleet. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the research and analytics for our product design, making key decisions on product integration, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a global product design strategy that aligns with our business goals and customer needs.
- Lead product design across our Services & Solutions organization, owning the end-to-end process from research to implementation and deployment.
- Build a global Centre of Excellence for Product Design that provides a platform for innovation and excellence in product design.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making, development prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Deliver a consistent customer experience across multiple platforms and geographic locations.
- Recruit and manage a team of product designers globally, leveraging our key talent hubs in London, France, and Brazil.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and Sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Establish a clear position as the Product Design expert within the organization, while demonstrating an open and accessible behavior that aligns with our company values.
- Build a network of key allies within the wider Michelin organization to drive innovation and excellence in product design.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, UX, human-computer interaction, or equivalent professional experience with a track record of continuous professional growth.
- 8+ years of experience as a Product Designer, Interaction Designer, Design Manager, or any Design leadership role.
- Demonstrate a portfolio of work with a proven track record for solving difficult product design problems and simplifying complex requirements.
- Experience collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touchpoints on different platforms and devices.
- Experience leading research projects and user testing to inform design decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills with the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
- Highly organized and effective project management skills with a track record for managing design across multiple concurrent programs.
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Relentless desire for innovation and driving high standards, balanced with business needs and customer expectations.
- Experience hiring and scaling teams globally.
