Job Title: Clinical Research Fellow in Haematology/Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Fellow to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Research Fellow, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of clinical trials in haematology and oncology.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years post-registration general/acute medicine experience and MRCP or equivalent. You will be responsible for assisting the Directors and investigators in the running of clinical studies for patients in the CRF, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, and Wessex Research Hubs.

You will engage with all aspects of the development and conduct of studies, including the submission and maintenance of regulatory documents, the recruitment of subjects, and providing medical cover. You will also contribute to an on-call study phone rota.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical trials in haematology and oncology
  • Conduct clinical research studies, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Collaborate with investigators, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the successful conduct of studies
  • Provide medical cover for clinical trials and other research studies
  • Contribute to the development of regulatory documents, including protocols, informed consent forms, and case report forms
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years post-registration general/acute medicine experience and MRCP or equivalent
  • Strong clinical research skills and experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
