Role Overview:

This position is vital for supporting the Distribution Centre in achieving optimal performance by maintaining equipment to the highest standards and minimizing production downtime.

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist will oversee the upkeep of our service equipment and manage daily maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with maintenance activities during shifts to ensure prompt resolution of issues, particularly during peak operational periods.
  • Work on various equipment, including automated sorters, conveyors, sensors, and motors.
  • Prioritize and manage machine faults effectively.
  • Establish best practices for machine operations.
  • Support and enhance internal applications.
  • Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot conveyor systems, including light sensors, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of automation machinery, as well as power distribution systems, branch circuits, transformers, and wiring methods.
  • Implement best practices and LEAN methodologies to improve and sustain operational performance.
  • Collaborate with other engineering colleagues.
  • Foster positive working relationships across all organizational levels and with external suppliers.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance personal performance.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, ensuring accurate reporting of incidents and near misses.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or possession of an Electrical NVQ Level 3 / 18th Edition or similar qualification.
  • Relevant engineering experience.

Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge of automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, controls, and electronics.

Skills:
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective information dissemination.
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach to work.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Adaptability to changing requirements.
