Role Summary:

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is vital in ensuring the Distribution Centre operates at peak efficiency. This role involves maintaining machinery to high standards and minimizing production downtime.

In this position, you will be responsible for the upkeep of our service equipment and will handle daily maintenance tasks, ensuring that the facilities are safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with maintenance tasks during shifts to ensure quick resolution of issues, particularly during high-demand periods.

- Work on various equipment, including automated sorting systems, conveyor belts, sensors, and motors.

- Prioritize and manage machine malfunctions effectively.

- Establish best practices for machine operations.

- Support and enhance internal applications.

- Troubleshoot and maintain conveyor systems, including components such as light sensors, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders.

- Assist in the installation and maintenance of automation machinery, as well as power distribution systems, branch circuits, transformers, and wiring methods.

- Promote best practices and LEAN methodologies to improve and sustain operational performance.

- Collaborate with other engineering professionals.

- Foster positive working relationships across all organizational levels and with external suppliers.

- Provide constructive feedback to enhance personal performance.

- Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, ensuring accurate reporting of incidents and near misses.


Requirements:

- Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (Electrical NVQ Level 3 / 18th Edition).

- Relevant engineering experience.

- Familiarity with automated conveyor systems and controls.

- Understanding of electrical and electronic principles.

- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.

- Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures.

- Proficiency in industrial electrical systems, controls, and electronics.

- Awareness of statutory compliance requirements.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective information dissemination.

- A proactive and customer-focused approach to work.

- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
