About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Ophthalmology team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

As a senior member of the nursing team, you will be responsible for coordinating the assessment of care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating appropriate programs of care for patients requiring ophthalmic care.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of holistic care is maintained for all patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To practice autonomously as an Ophthalmic Clinical Nurse Specialist within the department
  2. To assess, organise and prioritise care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team with minimal supervision
  3. Act as a role model setting standards of practice while promoting clinical expertise
About Us

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

We work collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership.

Our services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.

We employ over 6258 staff, including temporary bank staff, and provide acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.

Requirements

Essential:

  1. Speciality knowledge and experience
  2. Basic knowledge of financial management within the clinical setting
  3. To complete the Trust toolkit competencies
  4. Relevant Post Registration clinical experience
  5. Initiation and implementation of change

Desirable:
