Are you experienced in statutory accounts and seeking professional growth?

Join a rapidly expanding and innovative financial services company with a distinctive approach

Become part of a modern, technology-driven accounting firm

We offer fractional finance teams to a diverse range of clients across various sectors, including retail, hospitality, and more.

Utilizing cutting-edge technology, we aim to present financial statements clearly through transparent communication, fostering partnerships with our clients based on trust and customized service.

We are in search of a motivated and knowledgeable Accountant to join our dynamic team as we continue to expand our client base.

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a vital role in our growing team while we onboard new clients.

Working closely with the core team and supporting Management Accountants who oversee our entire portfolio, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the preparation of Statutory Accounts for various clients.

Your contributions will be essential in gathering, creating, and submitting precise statutory accounts to the appropriate authorities.

Your daily tasks will include the preparation and timely submission of accurate accounts at year-end to facilitate tax planning, as well as the preparation of Annual Accounts, Corporation Tax returns, Self-Assessments, and necessary maintenance and administration.

You will also address any client inquiries related to statutory accounts, ensuring our clients feel informed and supported.

As you enhance your skills and knowledge, you will have the opportunity to advance into a more senior or leadership role, contingent upon your performance.

Qualifications

First and foremost, you should have experience in preparing and delivering Statutory Accounts within a practice or industry context.

You must be comfortable interacting with clients and proactive in your communication with clients and stakeholders.

Building strong relationships with stakeholders is crucial; we want to understand why this aspect is significant to you as a Financial Accountant.

It is essential that you can adhere to strict deadlines, and you should be prepared to discuss how you have successfully met deadlines in the past.

As an Accountant, you should be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for accounting tasks. We are interested in your experience with various Excel functions, especially Lookups and Pivot Tables.

You should be adaptable and eager to learn, with an interest in new technology and cloud software.

We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds, whether qualified by experience or holding qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or AAT.

While knowledge of Xero is highly desirable, it is not mandatory, as training and certification will be provided.

Benefits

Join a team that delights clients with a friendly and helpful approach to service.

This position offers a fantastic pathway to a Lead or Manager role, supported by a friendly and experienced team.

You will have the chance to work with the latest accounting technology on complex projects for various businesses.

  • Access to tasty snacks and beverages in the office.
  • Participate in quarterly team social events, all expenses covered by Virgate.
