We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Process Operations Specialist at Thames Water. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments related to process activities. Your expertise will be crucial in utilizing our systems to manage planned maintenance and operational plans effectively. You will collaborate closely with a process controller, oversee permit logging, and escalate issues as necessary. Additionally, you will provide essential support to the sludge stream manager and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in both reactive and planned operations while ensuring that all Key Stakeholders are kept informed.
- Oversee all reactive tasks by performing risk assessments, coordinating with teams, and escalating issues when needed, ensuring compliance with asset standards.
- Facilitate planned operations by ensuring all preparatory work is completed efficiently, thereby minimizing delays.
- Monitor daily alarms to detect potential plant issues, analyze data, and make informed decisions while escalating as necessary.
- Adhere to company Health & Safety protocols and auditing practices, maintaining accurate records.
- Act as a technical resource for isolations, sharing insights on process risks and Health & Safety matters while monitoring alarms for timely responses.
- Completion of NVQ level 2 units or equivalent experience.
- Technical qualifications such as C&G or HNC are desirable.
- Experience in boiler operation and turbine/generator systems.
- Willingness to undergo training in safety protocols, including Confined Space Entry.
- Relevant industry experience with a background in managing or controlling processes.
- Technical expertise may necessitate additional qualifications.
- Strong practical experience in specialized processes from a related role.
- A valid driving license.
- Proficiency in using relevant Company IT systems and Office software.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems is advantageous.
- Competitive salary up to £43,000 per annum based on skills and experience.
- Annual Leave - 24 days of holiday per year, increasing to 28 with service length (plus bank holidays).
